The Official Intake Thread.
I don't know of one but most SS owners and I have been dyno at 230 whp. Now if its true that 205 bhp is stock from factory then that could put us up around 240-250 bhp and that is some crazy gains. My bf has a 300zx TT and I took it to his shop to put it on the dyno and when the mechanics seen the numbers from the dyno and the cel scan their jaws droped. They couldn't belive how much gain was from just a CAIand how bad GM killed the intake flow stock.

Ive heard the injen rates their intakes from the flywheel, so it would seem like you get more hp, while the k & n rate at the wheel... so it would balance about the same... I dont see how two pieces of metal that are VERY VERY VERY close structure have that much of a difference.
waking up a dead thread but have a few questions, plan on getting a CAI and i cant decide which one to get. I want one that will give me the most hp gain with out throwing CEL's. I also plan on getting the stage 2 kit, should i get the stage 2 kit first and then CAI or doesnt matter. I ask this due to the fact that some people state that getting the Stage 2 eliminates throwing CELS. Thanks a bunch

look for the OTTP 3" coming out. I doubt it will have any CEL's and Josh at OTT will make sure fitment is 100%
stage 2 doesn't eliminate CEL's and it doesn't matter what order they're installed in.

just got the ebay intake, scared the crap outta me when the CEL came on. My scanner shows a "fuel mixture too rich" and "manufacturer air metering" code. this has probably been asked like a hundred times, but does anyone know how to keep the CEL off??? i have tried disconnecting the battery to reset the ECM (for 2 hrs) and have even cleaned the MAF with MAF cleaner. I also get some hesitation in first and second gear. I hope this isn't something i have to live with as i have to carry around my obdII scanner everywhere to erase the codes. Is there a retune or aftermarket MAF that can be installed?
