No you just run an oil line from the back of the block to the turbo. Nothing more.
Some do different things with the PVC system. In zzps instructions it's no more than a hose from the valve cover to the turbo intake. That's all I did and put a catch can in between. Here this is always a good read and helped me with my install: http://s3.amazonaws.com/zzpstorage/i...structions.pdf |
so I got myself the OTTP kit with the s257 FMW. I will be running this setup with their stage 2 turbo cams, E85, id1000's, return style fuel system, neutral balance shafts, 82# valve springs w/ ti retainers...my current TVS tune with above mods has a 7400 redline and still is making power
So what are the chances my 100k mile stock internals engine is going to last? or do I throw some rods and pistons with a new hone and call it a day or try to scrape up for the Gen3 block? as far as transmission goes...thats going to stay, second gear syncro is going bad but i can mangae seeing its a road course car anyway but i dont have LSD either :( EDIT: Can I leave my overdrive ATI dampner on? it shouldnt hurt anything but rob a bit of power, i dont like how small the crank key is for them and well its on and working just fine so why put an underdrive on? or is there a big bennifit to it? |
Nice set up, I'll be investing in a 257 over the winter as well.
With 100k on the motor I think it'll be more on the tired side then risk of blowing up. Depends how hard you want to push it. I run an OD damper on my car still. It's actually better for the motor because it's larger and dampens better. But probably robs a few poines. I was in the same boat as you. Ran it on my TVS set up then just left it on for the turbo set up. |
Oh hai
|
I threw my turbo on with 140k miles on the engine. I'm waiting for it to blow up now haha
|
With a good tune it'll probably never blow up. Just be worn out and not make the power it could.
|
Taylor is doing the tuning and i think I'm actually going to try and blow it up. No sense in pulling an engine that still runs fine right?! Hahaha
|
A non-blown up motor is worth more (as a whole or in pieces) than a blown up motor. Blow it up and risk damaging the head, and that's where all the money is.

actually took my car out this morning. wish it was warmer so I could have some sort of traction lol.
32psi and roasting 3rd and 4th |
Soon to be joining the club. Finish getting some funds, but gonna use the zzp swap kit. S256et turbo, 80# injectors, 50mm BOV and zzp stage 1 cams with titanium springs. Gonna be replacing my clutch while im at it with their southbend stage 4 clutch kit. and 3" exhaust. Pretty sure im gonna go with the recirculated waste gate.
This kit will replace all my current mods so ill have some zzp stuff for sale after. Currently stage 3 phenolic, low mount, dual pass +option b, 3"zzp intake 42#injectors, midlength header and 2.5"zzp full exhaust |
bout to sale both my lsj t. who wants to buy them =]

It's official I will be going turbo! I have a custom kit someone had done for their balt. It came with
Turbonetics 60 series I believe Tail bov Tail waste gate Custom catch can Intercooler(I forget what brand) Hahn intake manifold I need to buy a turbo manifold still, 80lb injectors, mounts, and some odds and ends. I already have the gmpp upgraded clutch so should be good with that . |
Hey guys wondering if anyone has used a P and L WRX intercooler on their balt?
|
So I am going the saab intake manifold route for my lsj just as zzp's turbo swap kit. I am curious what intercooler and pipping are being used with it other than their zzp kit. I would really like a treadstone intercooler and notice ottp offers it. Im just stumped on intercooler piping and what would work for an lsjt with a treadstone.
Thank you for any insight. |
Well my 257 and Walbro 450 pump showed up from OTTP. Looks like I got some work to do

Do you have the saab manifold? I have one I need to mod into LSJ-T shape here in the next couple days, I could have it ready on monday probably. I also have a LE5 8pin TB to work with it.

Hello guys and gals. I just had a dyno tune and i ran out of fuel top end. I am on 5431PTE, 80lbs injectors, and stock fuel system. What are some of you running for the fuel system? I am also on e85. The car made about 515hp before leaning out.
