Official Turbo LSJ thread!!!
Since i believe theres quite a few of us turbo lsjs now, i think its time to start a New thread based on everyones setups weather custom turbo kits, or brand quality kits. Also i think it would be helpful if we have new lsj comers that want to gain some knowledge on turbo lsjs and what or how to start in order to get real boost and power on their Balts.
-Post pics of set up -Problems -How to -Innovations -Ideas -Vids -All the good stuff Lets start! :) Am running the Hahn stage V currently on 16psi -S20g Turbo Int WG -Custom 3" exhaust with obx racing muffler -AEM wideband -Turbo Smart BOV -Turbo Smart Boost Controler -60lb Injectors -HP tuned heres a pics when my build took place and when finished :) http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...88/godess3.jpg http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...88/godess2.jpg and when finished http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...baltlevel5.jpg Lets keep this thread going! :cssNET::twothumbs |

anyone using an LNF manifold w/ upgraded turbo (heard on LSJ it hits the coolant pipe in the rear)? are most of you guys running an external wastegate? what about oil feeds and taps what did everyone do for that? and boost controllers does everyone rely on just their wastegate springs?

thanks there jonathan that info is helpful.
what size hose/line did you use for the oil feed and drain for the turbo, is it hard line or braided? |
no problem man. i used a stainless steel line for the oil feed as for the drain line i just have a regular braided hose. works good so far.
|
click :)
|
noice!!!! go ahead and count me in as one of the slow lsj turbo cars aswell.
and while we have this thread up. how the F%*K do you get the damn belt tight. i am starting to get a squeeky belt and its bugging the hell out of me. the only way i could think of doing it is putting the belt on with the tensioner on loose. the i push it down as hard as i can and tightened it. is this wrong lol????? |
you shouldn't have to loosen anything on the tensioner. the tensioner gets bolted into one place and you should just have to use a pry bar to loosen some tension off of it to slide the belt on
|
I shall be a member of this thread soon depending how much I can milk out of student loans when already having florida prepaid :cssNET:
|
damn you florida residentls, lucky SOBs!!! my cousing in that area rub it into me, probably too much.
as for turbo why did everyone remove their m62 and not just keep it pushing boost? |

because we all got tired of the m62s lol. too much work to make good power. As of now we have 4 Turbo LSJs in the squad :twothumbs
true that lol. and what tensioner are you using? this one that comes with the zzp kit. i hardly ever drive the car so it just hasnt been that important to me to even try to fix the belt problem yet lol. |
I'll have to post some pics soon, cool thread idea.
Also, Jonathan how long have you been running that setup? |
ive been running this setup since Feb this year, not one issue so far thank god lol. ive been running it strong and raced alot of people with it. only thing is see affecting me in the near future is the clutch, which am running a stock lsj clutch. So yea i think it has lasted pretty long :)
|
Yeah bro too much to list O:-).. :-P

Running about 22psi right now. Just got a AFC from ZZP so that I'm not maxing out my MAF anymore and I can run more boost. Car feels like high 300's, but has yet to dyno. It's been a blast despite the few little quirks. She pulls pretty hard :) Just gotta get some traction  |
uhmm.... 62mm and 30lbs on race gas. :)
|
well then in that case lets start seeing some quarter mile times. because from what i read all you kids that are doing this are just going for numbers which mean nothing if you can't get it to hook.

it's a fun street car. i have no interest in going to the track. i'll probably run it once to see a stupid high trap speed but thats it. it already did 12.98 @ 109mph back in 2009 on SC/nitrous
