I wouldn't call 24* on a gas tune conservative.. But that's just me.
Looks like it pulls very nicely for a 2.8 though.

I think id be more concerned as to why your car isent hitting p.e. its lean as **** and 24 on pump is abit stout as for your iat2 when its 30 deg out side they aren't going to get that hot to begin with lets see you do that in the summer

It is. I gotta reset the gauge. We were at like 11-12.1 on hpt.during testing

24* where is the question

24* @ peak trq vs 24* @ 7000 is a massive difference in cylinder pressure.

considering its a 5gph 2.8 m62 setup, it's more than likely a lightly ramped table with 15-18* midrange ramping too 24 by redline. Nothing to worry about really, that's a mild methanol tune IMO.

The car has been running fine i have been doing multiple pulls in it daily for over a month now. (its just so much fun) Trust me the motor would have popped a looong time ago if it was really that lean

I know in my heart that pullin though gears so often will one day blow my.motor or trans. Its sad. But then ill have an excuse to do a nice build. Tvs of course

That's a rather large sweep in AFR

Is your afr gradually changing from lean to rich or rich to lean, or is it all over the place during the pull?

Quote from james:

iWork I can add more timing because your car is only at 22/23 topend and 13/14 mid

Then later..
Car is done, I did remove 1* timing up top whic puts you at 24 topend total.. And I increased fuel by 1.5% to help with safety

There should be no reason for it to blow up any time soon on you're current setup. If you stay on top of the basic maintenance, it will live.

Im uploading another vid now. It stays about 14.6 the whole pull but gets richer right at about redline. Like 13.4

I changed the o2 after getting tuned. Thing the o2 is either bad or.i gotta reset the gauge idk yet

Basic maintenance such as oil and coolant and good gas? Check.

Good to hear that from you. He told me the tune was safe with room for a lot more. Idk much anything about tuning so i just said good lol.

If what you posted is true, your tune's very mild.

If you were to dyno your car as is vs your 91 only tune it would be roughly a 15-25whp gain, with minimal gain in torque.

No reason to run a ***** out tune all the time unless you have the understanding/capability of tuning yourself or your screename is Tstone(ehm... had mild tune likes yours, chose the latter) :P I vaaaandddeer vie

I havn't picked on Tyler in a good while...

video is set to private

Not much room to "ramp up" usng a 5gph on 50/50.

Sure you can achieve 25-26* by redline. But that won't be where the meat of the power is made. I think James is doing the right thing by leaving it timid so you can spiritly drive it with out putting more unnecessary stress on the sleeve/ring/ringlands/bearings.

Slow and steady wins the race :P

Hmmm. But if e becomes more available do u think there would b more room for improves? Obviously im running out of rope with boltons. Gotta man up and do sum cams witha ported gead and a tvs on a 2.1"

e will provide you access too a "no ***** given tune"

it's considerably more forgiving as well
15% gasoline, or greater depending on the season (gasoline itself acts as a form of lubrication)
plus all the other additives added to the fuel to prevent from washing the cylinder walls and being inherently less corrosive.

Methanol is more volatile, but lacks any lubrication. When large amounts are ran without a detergent of sort, the risk of washing out the cylinder walls can lead to other issues. You also simply cannot control greater amounts of methanol during your wot fueling through a X gph nozzle as you would through an injector the same way or anywhere near as smoothly/precisely. Can be done though... :P

Sadly all i can do right now is.meth. but its not bad. The nearest e85 station is like half an hour from me. Just not worth it esp.if im getting less mpgs and i travel a bit so **** that headacke. After getting tuned on my 5gph nozz (m62 w/ 2.8") it definately pulls harder. Feels like about 20hp and right now its conservatively tuned. 24 total degrees of timing. I actually was running without meth(whoops) and the engine did not pop. And check out my iats!
Same thing for me...but when I'll still switch to a E85 tune in sping. I've bough a couple of 20L portable tanks that I'll throw in my trunk, so that I only need to drive every 2 fillups
