I wouldn't worry too much. Its also been in abnormally warm around here. Ambiant air temps in the 90s mean IAT1s in the high 90s low 100s which means IAT2s in the 150s at the end of a long pull. So my car is also pulling timing.
Give it a try yourself. You will love it.

Well a 2.7 on a MP90 would put it around 27-28 psi with a peak torque of 300-320; depending on how much you want me to push the envelope on your tune.
It may seem like a joke, but dual 14s using a 50/50 mixture is what you need. Every car responds a bit differently, but anywhere in the 20-24gph range will allow your tune to be sculpted similar to a e-85 setup.

As abusive as any 28 psi setup is on this engine. Wear and tear is inevitable
Iat2 will be low, cylinder temps will be controlled, egts will be happy
Rule of thumb with these engines
If you can keep iat2s, egts and knock at bay, your engine will live to see another day.
There's always a chance of catastrophic failure no matter how well your equipped. It's the chance you will have to take

put it this way
we pullied the m62 down to a 2.4... ran 25* of advance @ peak torque, scaled it to 27.5* by redline to hold torque (cylinder pressure)... full bolt ons, port matched head...
it doesn't even come close power wise to when we ran a TVS, MP90, or Lysholm 1.6
it squeeks the tires loose from a 40 roll, but its nothing compared to the blowers above.

50k isn't high mileage at all. You'll be fine. As for you wanting your motor to last as long as the car, it's always a risk when modding. Especially when you start getting into the bigger things like a tvs. Just make sure your tune is spot on and the motor is going to be a reliable as it can considering.
