Well, I'm certainly not an expert on the ecotec.. but, you broke the aluminum around the steel sleeve, isn't that cast into the block?

yes you are correct, but for aftermarket sleeves to fit that whole part is machined out and a new one is put in.

it was 99 not 100, knock killed it but they were getting weak already from the cylinder pressure
