Noob question but we all have questions... now what is the difference in synthetic oil and just good old regualar oil in r lsj's? is it better, worse i know its more expensive but idk tell me what kind of oil u guys r runnin cause my oil change is comin up soon. i just want the very best for my car just like any other person who loves there car

Only run synthetic in an SS/SC. Any brand will be fine as long as it meets GM Standards.

I run Mobil 1 Synthetic.

 

use water, it's cheaper

I use royal purple personally, with a k&n oil filter.

 

sounds like ill use mobil 1 lol cause the cars oil was changed before i bought it and im sure its not synthetic

I was going to say, last time I paid like $4-5/quart for Mobil 1.

And just out of curiosity (don't mean to threadjack) how much oil came out of your LSJ? Because I changed the oil in mine about 2000 miles ago and 7.5qts came out....my dad's v8 northstar only holds 8, so i figured 7.5 was a lot for a 4 banger

 

We have a large oil pan along with an oil cooler.
