OnStar = Bad idea for tuner?

I'm looking at getting a new SS/SC here shortly, and I was wondering if OnStar would be a bad idea for the tuner. Example: Will the dealer be able to pull up information and be like "Nope, you were driving over 90 (or some other speed, which i never would do ) so your warranty is screwed, bye."

That is possible, but it also has a benefit. You can use it to tell you what CEL number your car is throwing. I have done this on several occasions!

can't, it isn't really a box, the ecm just remembers things for a period of time. its not long, just long enough to recreate the last few seconds in a wreck.

remember, it is YOUR information, the dealer cannot provide it to law or insurance agents without your okay.

And onstar sends you monthly reports letting you know how your car is doing and it reminds you when your maintenece is due. Ive used it quite a few times just for directions.

Very true. The car has to be running for them to pull the code, so I usually call them while I'm driving. That's the only reason why I have used it. My buddy hit it once to ask for directions that we didn't need because we were just going to the local IHOP!

Hey Allshot, My cruise quit on me too. Another member informed me that there is a TSB about it. The dealer just needs to plug into the computer to fix it.

Ya, they need to just clear the code and it will start to work again. The people at the dealer said it might be due to riding the clutch to much so it deactivates it. Mine has been working fine for the last two months
