Question OTTP Ecu Help ??

Okay...so today i picked up a set of 60lb injectors and a 2.8" pulley. The guy I got them from said he would sell me his spare ecu. It came from Ottp and has their canned tune on it and is programmed for the vin of his 07 ss/sc. But he said they told him the ecu was from an 06 ss/sc. What I want to know is will his OTTP ecu plug into my 06 ss/sc and run my car fine. Even though it has his cars vin in it and not mine ?? Will it even start my car up and run normal ? I ask because In my area there is NO ONE with HPT for me to get a custum tune. So the canned tune on his second ecu works perfect for me if it will run my car. Does anyone know if it will run my car ? Thanks

The short answer is no...

The security system in your car compares the VIN numbers stored in the ECU and BCU and if they don't match up it won't let you start the car; Your theft light will just come on. You'll have to get it programmed for your VIN with HPT, or other method.

Who is that ?? ( James ?? At Ravens ? )

Also , Is there any other way to for me to get this 2.8" and 60's running on my car ? Would a Trifecta tune be able to be set up to run the 60's and the pulley properly ?

Try it and see if it works, there won't be any harm if it doesn't. Worst case scenario you need to do a crank relearn from the dealership or someone with hptuners.

If you do find someone with hptuners and they know how to tune, just simply have them tune you. It's a better option then running a canned vendor tune.

Josh at OTT should be able to pull the file and modify it if you send it back. Give him a call and see if he can help. Even if you had to buy a new one, it would only be $100.

I'm really hoping his computer from Ottp works to run my car. He is willing to sell it to me for next to nothing sense I bought the pulley and injectors. I'm just wondering if there is anyone here that knowss for sure or if they have personally used a ottp computer out of someone elses car in theres and had it work just fine.

Its already been discussed. It wont until you get the VIN changed on the ECU.

it's a 50/50 chance. A total shot in the dark, some people have success others don't. like someone else said give it a try.
