i just recently went turbo. now i kind of wish i bought the tvs for ease of installation and the powerband. I have a fairly small turbo only a 50 trim. It full spools around 3500rpm and should make about 370whp on meth when fully tuned. It pulls great up top but normal driving you never really get into boost.

I was looking at one of the tvs threads and it stated the stage 3 tune wasnt enough, you would need a custum tune, im not sure if they were talking about ottps kit but...

Is the pcm that comes with ottp stage 3 kit good enough to bolt everything up without having to get a custom tune once the install is complete?

yea it will get you driving and run fine. but to get the most power out of it you would want a custom street and or dyno tune done

I'm making the same choice. Plus supercharged cars can compete with a turbo set up that may have 10 to 20 whp over them because of that power band.

I think i may go with the tvs but run the ottp stage 3 pcm tune until i get a meth set up

If i dont pay my car off right away this is what my plan/set-up will be...

Ottp stage 3
Ottp heat exchanger
Ottp option b kit
Ottp long tube header

With those mods what kind of numbers do you guys with experience predict...I'm talking hp/tq numbers as well as 1/4 mile...?

Note* I'm running a k&n cai and hahn 3" cat back right now

is there a reason why people are really trying to get this guy to beleive he cant make 350 on the tvs?? i made 330 *WHP* on a 2.9,all cooling mods, meth and a very shitty restricted exhaust!! i personally think if you take the time to find the better products and research 350 is possible without a dought
i love my tvs f yu turbo kits

Nice

I got my car dynoed with just the k&n cai and it made 224whp on a dynojet, ottps site says expect 100hp with the stage 3 kit so I'm expecting atleast 300hp out of this kit if not more

The thing that got me the most cus I'm a fan of both set ups....but was the number of threads/posts/people ect...that went from TVS to turbo. For you're average tuner it will be a little more difficult to extract the power out of the TVS then the turbo wich typically comes easier. However if you're willing to take the time and work at it TVS will be a great option.

P.S : I'm not a turbo Fan Boy. Just offering some opinions ect..

exactly what i meant, turbo takes time to get setup and alot of parts and crap but trust me ive spent alot of money and time with my tuner and my friend who installs my parts to try and figure out how this tvs is gunna work,**** i just bought the ottp header thats my freaking 4th header and downpipe combo! and exhaust i wont even talk about that because i changed it so many times, different meth mixes, theres actually a bit of information involved when trying to get the tvs to its potential

if your chasing a number of over 350whp turbo is the easy way to go. to crank out 350whp or more out of a tvs isnt easy. just look around at how many people are over that mark. my guess is probably less than ten. so if its the numbers you want turbo would be the way to go

I would recommend the ottp stage III kit, as that is what I bought, I don't know how well those tunes are from ottp, but I would recommend getting tuned by someone near you and not going with their tune or any "canned" tune for that matter. The tune is a basic tune for 80# injectors, from what I have heard they are not taylored to what your car is running and what not, they can make small adjustments, but if you have someone in the car with you, they can adjust things right there on the spot, tuning the car to what it should be and what you want it to be like.

tunning is very important to run a tvs to its potential also

So there is more tuning involved with a tvs compared to a turbo kit I'm assuming?

not really, its just the knowledge of your tuner that gets you that perfect tune if you get what i mean, the more time you spend on it the better it will come out

I see

The drain plug at the bottom of ottps h/e looks like it could drag against the ground and come off, is this the case?

you would be better off without an added H/E maybe replace the stock one with a better one. Adding heat exhanger = more headache than its worth

That's what I was going to do, replace the stock h/e with an ottp or zzp h/e
