out of luck..

so ive been needing a full mobil 1 synthetic change for quite some time.. i was told that i need a mechanic to change it because of the positioning of the supercharger is right over the oil filter and would need some special tool or to remove some parts from the charger... any one know of a place that will do this kind of work if any one knows what i am talking about.. lot of help, thanks.

All they need is a 12" extension and a 22 mm socket I believe it is.

Don't quote me on the socket size.

Uhh. One of these http://www.amazon.com/Lisle-14700-Fi.../dp/B0009OMYAQ and a 10" socket extention. What a ******* mechanic. You can get just a regular socket that will fit but the special sockets that are made specifically for the ecotec oil cap are much shorter and are easier to work with in the cramped area under the blower.

yup quite easy to do once you get all the parts. about a minute or less of moving it around and the filters out.

Its really easy to get the filter out. Just an extension and a 1 1/4" socket and your good to go. Remove the two bolts that holds the filler cap in and move it forward and pull the filter out that gap.

i just had the experience of a lifetime doing my oil change this morning.. its my third time doing it so you think i would have it down pat.. worst part is i work at a shop so i have all the tools necessary... I hot the socket tool stuck in the crevice to the left of the filter... I then got my extendable magnet stuck trying to push it back out from the other side, since my tool is aluminum and not magnetic.. 2.5 hours and alot of swearing today for my oil change... FML.... whatever you do, get anything that is magnetic so you arent a ******* like myself

All i used to do was unclip one sensor and use a 12'' extension with a regular 1"1/4 socket . I would clean the area with a paper towel and then slide the filter out the side, under the blower towards the front....you have to wiggle it a bit but it comes right out the front . It really isn't bad if you don't let it intimidate you to start with ....and suprisingly not all that messy.

Im glad i got skinny arms....used a socket and extention, loosend it off and pulled it out....ill admit, doing oil changes on this car sucks. So ******* easy on my Z, pop the cover off, with your hands u can take off the oil filter and use a socket set to take off the drain plug, takes less then 10mins from start to finish.

You should have no problems. If a 16 year old can do it you can to. Just take it slow the first time.
