um, yeah it's called 5th gear. Overdrive is for automatics. I've never seen a 5spd with overdrive.

Umm... no... look up the gear ratios on our tranny...

5th is less than 1:1... so it's overdrive...

Overdrive is only in AUTOMATIC transmissions. NOT MANUALS

Actually, I think it had the OD logo on the shift knob for the 90's Explorers with a stick. But that's the only time I've ever seen it referred to as Overdrive.

4th and 5th are 'overdrive' gear sets.

Good grief... are half of y'all total car noobs or something?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overdrive_%28mechanics%29

Read the article....

An "Overdrive" gear is anything with a ratio less than 1:1.... which means the drive shaft will be spinning faster than the engine is.

Maybe you should overdrive your car off a cliff.

Don't get these guys confused. A driveshaft between a transmission and rear end, will certainly do what you describe, but in a transaxle setup, the half shafts will not.
