...ok, so who on here knows if i can drop a PCM out of a diff. balt (same year and trim, diff VIN) in my car? will it work, or will i need to wait for HPT and change the VIN before it will work?

05 is different
06 is different
07 is different

you can however over write the 05-06 with either OS, but not 07's.

Two things:
  • VATS relearn (security)
  • CASE relearn (crank angle)

The first you can do without equipment, its easy, Google away, hit me up if you can't find it.
The second requires a Tech II or other scan tool that performs CASE relearn. MSD's DashHawk does it, and it's affordable and very useful too. Available everywhere!
