People with the airbox mod??
People with the airbox mod??
OK so i have the K&N rite now and its starting to get little cuts all in the intake and im not gonna deal with it.. So im gonna go with the airbox mod...But have a few questions bout it
Ok so i take the bottom of my airbox off with the 4 screws and then take the stock filter out also....Ok and from there by looking at the "how to" on the airbox mod is where i get confused...The filter where can i buy one? what size do i need to get?
do i need to cut up the bottom of airbox so i can get more flow to my filter??
And how the hell do you attach it by cutting a hole in the airbox?? Supposedly your supposed to attach it to something which i honestly have no clue?

need a 3.25" filter opening to fit the inlet of the stock pipe...and when u mount the filter u will need to make a hole so u can see the bolt so u can tighten it down threw that hole u made.
There is a great how-to on this in the How-to section with part number for the AEM Dryflow, btw.
Yeah and we recommend the AEM Dryflow as it is less likely to throw a CEL than oiled filters. Oh and if you wanna be able to "close" the airbox up and make it look factory for service visits you don't cut the box up like 97 Z Me Go did. Just put a small hole in the air box to allow a screwdriver to slide in, even with the filter neck, so you can tighten the clamp.

AEM dryflow FTW!
You just have to drill a small hole in the side of the airbox so you can tighten the banjo clamp down so that the filter says in place. I just took the lid off my box and did not cut it. It gets plenty of sound and my IAT2s are running about 7 degrees colder so it's doing something.

I'll say this one more time. THERE IS A WRITE UP IN THE HOW_TO SECTION THAT HAS THE EXACT STEPS AND THE PART NUMBER OF THE AEM DRYFLOW!!!
last page has the part number to make it a little faster for ya.

lol youll say it one more time....you act like your gonna try and come through my computer and try to kick my ass hahha....Neway the reason i made this thread was for the fact that the damn how to SUCKS *****
strange I found it quite easy to folow and to complete the mod based on the how-to. Point is I mentioned before you asked for the part number that the number is in the how-to. Just have to spend a few seconds and look.
enough with the attitude you guys, geez.........

Thank you, Thought. Guess that was too difficult for the OP, even after he was directed to the exact thread and page to find what he needed.
Oh and I don't know your little sister but if you are as lazy IRL as you are on here and expect everyone around you to do everything for you when you are more than capable of doing it yourself then I would imagine she does bitch at you fairly often.
Ok I'm sorry, that was outta line. I'm better than that.
Back on topic. AEM rocks. Just make sure you get the one with the 3.25" inlet. I made the mistake of getting one with a 3" inlet and it was a biotch getting it to work.

lmfao are you serious?? First off douche bag when i was reffering the part number i wasnt talking about a damn aem filter i was talking about the 2nd post on this thread about the kids K&N where he bought his filter at..and if i recall there arent any reference codoes to the K&N on the how to section and if there are i missed i apologize for that in advance

Maybe you should make it a little more clear as to what you are asking. K&N doesn't make a dryflow filter so the inference in that post succession is that you are asking for the AEM part number.
Oh and as for the douche bag comment. I did apologize for my previous comments so I would appreciate it if, as Thought said, we can agree to drop the attitudes.
Actually I thought that how to kind of sucked too. If I were someone who needed to know a step by step to do that I would have been screwed so I'm sure some noncar savy people scratched their head at it.
its not the fact that it is a hard thing to do i mean its a damn intake...its just the whole screw thing and tightening down the filter is what im gonna be curious about when i do get around to this
The screw is on the banjo clamp that will come with your filter and it's used to tighten it down to the intake tube. You will have to drill a hole in the airbox to access the screw on the clamp. It's simple, once you do it you will see what I mean.
That's easier than it seems. Put the filter on the airbox inlet with the clamp on it, then on the side of the air box, level with the hose clamp, drill a small hole in the outside of the box. This will allow you to slip in a small flat-tip screwdriver so you can tighten down the clamp and secure the filter. I am gonna be removing my wheels tonight to do some work so I'll see if I can take some decent pics of how mine is done.
