In most cases people talk of changing to colder plugs, this only helps if you plugs are getting too hot and melting or if you are getting detonation. Too cold and your plugs will not get hot enough to burn off the carbon deposite and "foul". There is no difference in spark, unless you change the type of plug i.e. copper, iridium, or platinum.

Considering that GM didn't include them in the kits, you should be safe, unless you put on a smaller pully.

Here is some good info I recently found. http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/techinf...000&country=US

i installed those iridiums and to be honest, i actually think i feel a difference, not necessarily faster than ever but more consistently fast... like b4 i installed them i kept feeling like the car was slower from time to time but then sometimes it'd throw me back into the seat in the familiar fashion. ever since i installed the plugs it seems fast all the time and i'm almost 100% sure that its because the factory plugs were out of spec! i checked the gap and one of them was at .025" = (but i might have dropped that one) but the other ones were anywhere from .030 to .036 when in reality they should be set .042" from the factory! but if u experienced this same problem i suggest getting new plugs, at least one step colder...

I got them on myself and put them at .040". They feel fine to this point. Nothing negative. I had the BRK7E's in prior to the Iridium and to be honest I haven't noticed anything better or worse between the 2.

I noticed a big difference in mine when I changed to the NGK BRK7EIX. The car is much smoother now and I have mine gapped at .030.
