polishing the blower
polishing the blower
i'm pulling off the blower in about an hour so i can polish it, i'll let everyone know how long it takes and any trouble spots, etc...
i'm doing it myself cause it's not worth paying $300+ to have steig or someone else polish it.

IMHO tho it is well worth it to have someone else polish it, after seeing mine I can definitely agree, there is a lot of material to remove to get it like a mirror

yeah i seen the valve cover along with the blower and it looked good, after seeing hers early this week, i decided to start with the blower since it will probably be the worst. i threw some 150g on a couple of spots and the blower metal was softer than other stuff i've polished before, so i don't think i will have any problems with the low speed dremel and a bunch of different grit tips
Biggest Problem with the Supercharger is that LiL Dimples in the Metal or Pits >> what ever you want to call it are very deep in areas so getting them all out is a Challenge!
The Buffing & Polishing are the easiest unless you dont have the wheels! Drimmel & Sanding wont do it alone!
Word to the wise!

i don't use polishing wheels, i always do that by hand, near the final stages you will see that finishing it by hand works 10 times better,. it takes much longer, but i'm not in a hurry
i was thinking about throwing a 3m disk on a drill somehow and using it, but we only have 80 grit disks so it would work only for the initial deburring

No the Wheels are for the shine will never get it to a mirror By hand >>> Check out eastwood.com they have some small 3 inch Polishing & Buffing wheels! You need a sewn Cloth wheel & a Loose cloth wheel white Rouge & some Tipoli>>> Swen Cloth & Tipoli ...Then Loose Cloth & White Rouge!

Alll My sanding was done by hand! Besides the Calipers I used a Die Grinder!

ummm you got some money you would like to put on it? cause i got a picture of my old r6 here that is so damn shiney you can see your reflection in the frame a few feet away, and all i did was the sandpaper-steel wool-hand polish method
anyways, you'll see a pic of the blower tomorrow.
l guess this is temporarily halted. damn dremel burnt up, and i'm sure as hell not hand sanding this lol. guess i'll have to wait until i get a new one to start again, until then i'll be rolling around with a blower that's had about 25% of it ran over with some 60 grit, and the rest is normal lol
