Has it happened before? Yes

Is it a common problem? I hope not.

Popped my number 3 a couple months ago, I think. I had a helicoil done. All peachy now.

I made a thread about it, and people gave me ****, saying I didn't torque the plug right. I may have not, but it seems recently people have been having this happen to them. I use NGK IX's.

i popped number 3? about a month ago, but also have a bad valve seal or something as there was some oil in there too

in the process of getting the parts and reinstalling the insert correctly and fixing the oil leak

the insert needed to be tapped in to secure it, the guy just threaded it in with the spark plug...

insert came out when i pulled the spark plug due to the oil in the chamber

i have a thread with more details on my problem

Wrong, lol.

Tapping the new threads is the longest part of the job. Also the sketchiest/hardest.

i used the wrong word really, after the insert is threaded in your suppose to use an expandable thing and tap it with a hammer lightly, its should push the teeth at the top of the insert to bite

the black bar
