A ported head is a head that is ported...You take off your stock head and send it to someone and they shave off metal which is the porting job. This allows the head to flow more air. The gains can be as much as 20whp depending on your application. I know a guy who can port the head for 450 bucks too and does a GREAT job.

It should only cost 450 bucks, I know a guy who can do it for that and he does amazing work, the head will flow close to 300cfm.

So a pro job that is PROVEN can't be costly? I mean, if you have the goods and not many true competitors, you can charge what you want if people will pay. A true port job is not simple.

I recommend Euthanasia tho. Great guy, AWESOME job, and reasonably priced. Here's my head that is on it's way back to me:

anyone can port a head. not everyone can do it right! theres more than just grinding. you cant just port and say done, you got to flow test it so you dont have cylinder run leaner than another, which will happen if one port flows better than another. its not a do it yourselfer in the garage or a $450 job, this i would not trust. i dont mean to bad mouth this $450 guy but it doesnt seem professional.

I also went with euthansia for my head porting, thats the guy I was talking about. If you want to know prices pm me or him, he is VERY reasonable and will have a core. He has been doing this for a very long time and is a professional. He will also have a flow bench soon =D. His heads have been flow'd before though and they are around the 300 mark.

Tom I believe the head you linked is mine lol =P. Notice how in these links my names on it haha.

I will have my head back in just a couple days but its not going to be put on the car for another week or two. Getting some more parts ordered and doing the build all at once. I highly recommend euthanasia for any port work and for any polishing work, hes a great guy and his rates are VERY reasonable and hes been doing this for several years. This is NOT just a guy doing this in his garage, he has his own shop and works for a great company that has been around for years. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Euthanasia has been doing heads for SEVERAL years, granted his flow bench is on order I still trust his work more then some random company that just wants to make money so they charge 1200 dollars.

Exactly. I would much prefer a port job that costs 1/4th of the price and dose the exact same thing. No offense to your sister or anything chevysssc but I just simply think there over priced.
