Problem with my brakes...

Wondering if you guys could help me narrow it down, I'm sure it's happened to at least a few other people the same way. I'm loosing power in my brake system... I'll have full power upon start up but as I drive and use the brakes, I loose all power and they still work but you really have to mash them. As I drive they will slowly build back up but once I use them again a couple times it's right back to no power. Does this sound like the master cylinder or an electrical problem?

Thanks for the help, just looking on some ideas to start weeding this out.

Sounds like the brake booster or a Vacuum leak because the booster uses engine vacuum.

Alright, that's where I'll start then. I'll check the vacuum lines as well. Is there any way to test it to see if it's working right?

It's a big line about a inch think going to the brake booster. I think it's right under the master cylinder.

No way because they will stiffen up if I'm sitting still and pump the brakes. It takes about 5 good pumps, then they stiffen up and feel like the car is not running, then as I drive a little more, pressure will return, but go away after I use it a few more times. It's really ******* annoying

I will look for that vacuum hose tomorrow, until then, any other ideas other than replacing the booster?
