Problems after New CAI/filter change
Problems after New CAI/filter change
SO not this weekend, but the weekend before, I finally got to doing everything i had wanted to do. Repainted bumper, door handle, and replaced cai which was getting wet, and made a shield. I also got an aem intake.
My problem now is that I get the P0101 code (MAF). I cleaned the MAF pretty well and the car runs better than it ever has since I got it (the old intake setup was a disaster from the last owner read:tape +plastic bag + basically clay on intake).
When I just start the car it has a lot of trouble and keeps reving from 400-1400 RPM. After about 30 seconds it calms down and sits back at about 800. The begining of the drive is always rough, kind of like it's not supplying enough fuel.
After about 4 minutes or so of driving, everything is wonderful. I don't get it.
I managed to get the CEL to turn off twice. One time i disconnected the battery for 15 minutes. Another time it was after I had filled up gas. CEL returned shortly after.
I'm guessing it has something do with getting too much air now? The way it was before it was basically suffocating, the filter was dirty and plugged.
I have a plastic shield around the filter but it's still open from the bottom of the filter. Is it not getting enough air?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I just read it yesterday. It read out at p0101
Edit: Maybe my writing was a bit confusing. That was the only code I got.
