What are the advantages of using efi live vs. hp tuners? I see they offer a standalone unit (vs. computer with hpt) but it's more expensive and only 2 vins (no year licenses or vehicle specific licenses).

I'm thinking it can't read it because you're buddy has a different car and you have to download the "correct" stream to get it to work with your car...ie one of those vehicle vin licenses. But I just glanced at it.

 

you can accually read alot more tables with efi live, it is set up alot better in my opinion but yeah the licenses should only be for tuning software he should be able to (log) more as many cars as he wants. his is just the v2 scanner
