Question about Intense Stage 3 Kit

I am seriously considering buying an intense stage 3 kit. I don't know much about up-grading and tuning cars yet, and was hoping for some input. Is this kit really worth it, what else should I upgrade with it, and is there anything else I need to know about? I am hoping someone has some pros and cons concerning the kit. To those of you who already have it, how is your car holding up to it? Any input is greatly appreciated.

From what your telling us...especially about your experience with tuning...the GM kits are going to be the way to go for you.

is the kit worth it..?? yes
would I suggest getting it..?? yes
would I wait until the GM kits come out..?? yes (but you said you'd get it)
why....because when the GM kits come out Intense and Rev-it-up will gain access to the tuning secrets and be able to pump out more HP I think that when GM comes out with the tuning they will be able to reflash the tuner to pull out more HP. So, get it now and reap the benefits of a faster SS now or wait and be slow

Actually, I happen to be a mechanic. I am a fast learner and am very good at what I do. This just happens to be my first oppurtunity to learn how to tune a car. I want to make sure this kit is right for me.

I didnt meant it to be offensive...sorry if it came off as such. I meant that while it is easy to install it is also just as easy to blow the motor because you can really adjust the fuel tables. To really tune with it your gonna need a wideband and a scan tool to scan for knock retard. You can run with KR...hell the gtp has it stock. They are just happy when they get to 0 they normally have like 6 or 7 degrees iirc. But you are safest with none. The reason why I say this is because I recall a few posts where people have having knock because the maftranslator makes the engine think it is under less load so it adds ignition advance making knock. I say GM kits because they are probably going to make the same power with much less risk...and with the increased rev limiter they would be a better place to start.

hEY MAN, the tuning is a piece of cake with an wideband air fuel gauge, you just install the gauge record the air fuel you are runing at and then adjust it witht he air fuel controller with a little knob that it has, to the left leaner to the right richer ( think) PLus it comes with instructions on how to do it/ . Easy as a cake man!

Hey BigJoe25.

Check out this thread for a good start
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l-lsj-performance-tech-47/how-tune-lsj-any-car-matter-12113/

You can alert the tune of the car a little with the MAF/MAP sensors but it's still limited to the stock parameters.
