Question about warranty

So if you have a GM Tech who is a friend, and they install the stage 2 kit, does that void the warranty? The reason I ask is that I do have a friend like that, and he said that it won't, and the dealership I bought my car from is owned by another friend of mine's dad, so when we were discussing it both of them were saying that it wouldn't void the warranty if he did it ob his own time. So does it void your warranty to do it that way?

Well what makes the dealership know that a stage 2 kit is installed at a dealership? Do people sign off on it somewhere or what?

if you get it installed by GM, and have a reciept for that install by GM, you get the full vehicle warranty for your stage 2.

if not, you still get warranty, but its only 12 months.
