Spinner gets a new exhaust

3" ZZP header with 3" catless downpipe custom flanged to bolt to one of my old race-car 3.5" outer /3" inner chambered mufflers from Stainless works and a turndown. Test fit, the muffler will sit slightly farther back on the car then the factory resonator and turn down at the very end of the tunnel in the middle of the car. Should be loud, as the muffler was someone loud on the camaro, but I guess we'll see. Cheap, simple, lightweight, stainless, and 3" all the way. I'll post sound clips tomorrow night after I put it on the car. Looking to pick up 35+HP over the shitty stock 2 1/4" setup at 20 psi boost

Header - $280
Downpipe with gaskets - $160
Flange welding +flanges - $40
Muffler/Turndown - $Free, laying around

Loud. Not quite as loud as the camaro was, but the tone is diff so it's overkill. Sounds GREAT though, zero rasp, even while catless. Going to stick a 12" bullet in there to quiet it a tiny bit and go from there.

I find it hard to believe that a muffler meant for a V8 can sound good on a 4cyl cobalt. Be sure to post a clip. I have my doubts

Forget how loud it will be...

That's just too big for the reasons of exhaust velocity. You're going to experience a loss of power in the lower RPMs...it's just going to shift your powerband upward. You might gain some horsepower, but you'll lose torque.

It's not an all out benefit.

Ended up changing it a bit, was too too loud.
Not the best, my first attempt at making one. The camera was pointed the wrong way ><, but you get the general idea I think. There is no rasp at all, period. 3" all the way back
It's a 3" downpipe directly into a 3" moroso spiral-flow muffler, then into a 24" stainless works straight-through chambered resonator (3" ID), around the axle and into a N1 parts co 3" inlet/4.5" out muffler.
