Question for the M62 experts
This weekend I attempted to install a 2.7 pulley only to find that my hub is not centered on the snout. Its about 3-5mm closer to the engine side than the front of the car. Anyone ever hear of anything like this? The superchargeer spins freely and doesn't look or sound like it's damaged. Anybody have any idea If I can still have the snout machined, or is it impossible since machining tools are usually positioned on the snout, sould I say f@ck it and just sand it down by hand? Should I not waste more money on it and just get a tvs?
I'm thinking if something is wrong with the snout, but the SC still works fine, then perhaps there are other things wrong with the rest of the SC to the extent that I cant just replace the snout. Anyone have any ideas?

ZZP says on theirsite that anything 2.7 or smaller will actually require machining on the snout for the pulley to fit properly.
"By developing Ecotec specific pulleys we have run all the way down to 2.6" with out snout machining. However each snout is casted and machined differently so we only guaranty down to 2.8" without machining."
That is listed on the page for 2.7" M62 pulleys
..also, i don't know a ton about machining and all, just ran across this in my homework in the past. hope its helpful lol. (They also have the machining tool for sale on their site)

can you post a pic? im not sure if im understanding your post correctly.
the casting of the blower snout might not be perfect, they never are. if there is more material on one side of the bearing, thats caused by a shifted castingm however its consider that normal. castings arent always perfect, as long as they are in tolerance they get used. depending on the pulley you have, you might need to machine the snout to get it to clear. you shouldnt have an issue with machining the snout (using the tool) it will just take more material off one side.
fyi- i run a zzp 2.7, didnt have any issues.

I didn't know if what i was responding with was actually legitimately relevant, so i might just be going the complete wrong direction lol. ZZPerformance - Snout Machining Tool #ZZ-SMT that's the tool i was talking about, but it sounds like i was confused lol

Holy sheet. I think you are the first person of 2015 that actually has done research and or the mods require to pulley below a gms2. Thank you and continue on your modding way. Tvs is nice as well, make big powa, I like the whine....almost thought of getting a lsj......

Thanks, had the car for 10 years but started modding it last summer. She's been on 42s with a 3.0 pulley and I'm finally comfortable enough with hptuners to go bigger. Hopefully it's at least as loud as the my62 is now, I've heard it's not very loud with larger pulleys.
HA I never looked at your join date took 10 years for all the mods? Glad you are keeping the SC, there is nothing like that nasty whine!

Yeah, but I honestly thought about doing it in a brief moment of desperate stupidity. I've had some issues with this car and my patience has been wearing thin. I'm sure the TVS is going to open up a whole new can of worms but hopefully the gains will make it worth it.
