Questions about going turbo
Alright...been on the forum for a long while, but just don't post much. Anyways my supercharger has decided to take a crap. It still builds boost, but it needs a new coupler, and has a ridiculous amount of play in the pulley. So much so that it can no longer keep its belt on. It has been determined that its bad bearings that is the cause. So instead of rebuilding it or replacing it I've decided to go turbo.
I already have the turbo setup. Which is a Garrett kit with a GT3071R-WG, 60lb injectors, Walbro fuel pump, FPR and all the random fuel lines and fittings needed to convert to return style fuel system.
My questions are pertaining to the intake manifold. I know that the Saab 9-3 manifold works, but is it worth it. I've seen that ATP has a supercharger delete kit. Would the Saab manifold really be that much of an improvement in flow over the stock manifold with the delete kit. Or should I go with a Hahn manifold and just modify the charge piping to work with it.
Also what do you guys do with the supercharger's heat exchanger when you go turbo...Sorry if that is a stupid question lol

heat exchanger depends on what you do with the intake mani...
OTT has a vulcan intake manifold... looks really nice and does a pretty good job...
Also, we just had this huge discussion about the stock fuel pump flowing better than the new walbro.. so you might wanna look into that..
Personally id say you have better flow with the supercharger delete kit.
The hahn and the vulcan are pretty much the same, very minor differences...
im getting the hahn one personally myself.

I just took a look at the Vulcan manifold. I've never heard of it before. It looks to be well made. It also looks like they offer a velocity stack option. I know the velocity stack intake on my 2g did wonders for it vs stock. Its cheaper and looks a lot better then the hahn as well.
Might have to send my walbro back then if the stocker flows better
and yes debaged Ill sell the supercharger once I get the turbo on. Can't take it off quite yet though. It doesn't get driven atm, but it still needs to be able to move in and out of the drive way until it gets warm and I can park my 2g outside. Not sure why you would want a busted supercharger with 85 k miles on it though.

I dont know, i like the hahn one man.. lol..
Do some reasearch.. look a few posts down in the locked thread turbo manifold.. lol yes i know, but trust me, a few pages in, it gets HECTIC.

I don't see anything about intake manifolds in that thread.... Just exhaust manifolds. I already have the garrett exhaust manifold. I did see the part in that thread that showsthe stock pump outflows the walbro at higher pressures though. I don't mind sending it back that's more money i can spend on other things lol
i didnt say there was anything about them in there..
i said to look in that post about the fuel pump.
Sorry i should have mentioned that
lol my bad... i think i mentioned it in the first post i put up iirc.
