Quiet Performance 2.5" exhaust
Quiet Performance 2.5" exhaust
Hey guys, I've had a stock exhaust for too long! I had a Megan at one point but was way too loud and I'm looking for something that won't get me pulled over all the time. My stock downpipe has a nasty hole in the flex section and sounds like a tractor!
What does everyone recommend for a smooth flowing downpipe/catback combo that's deep and quiet. I was looking at what Hahn has to offer, but they only have a 3" downpipe, I don't think I need that much flow for what I've got, and I'd imagine that'd be pretty loud.
I want to keep it around $700-$800 if I could.

i dont have an aftermarket d/p so i can't really recomend one but i hav a magnaflow cat-back and love it. it sounds great and is not excessively loud. i also used to hav a megan but it was way too loud and i didnt care for the tone.
actually, 3" are not as loud as everyone thinks. larger pipe gives the sound waves more space to resonate. larger, longer sound waves = lower tone. Its the mufflers and resonators that control most of the volume.
Put one huge one or two smaller ones in to dampen the sound. 30"+ if you can get it in there, and that depends on your muffler you get... Straight through resonators dont hurt performance so do as much as you can.
check out GMPP "performance" cat-back. much quieter than magnaflow or flowmaster. look it up on youtube for a video clip. i believe it will run you about $550 on crateenginedepot.com
