ran compression tonight
numbers seem low for some reason. however they are withing a certain percentage of each other to be cool.
do you have chocolate milk in the pan? pull the radiator resivoir cap off and let the car warm up. check for bubbles that don't stop. this is a simple check. hell do a leak down, this will give some what of a better answer.
what makes you think it's toast?

i havent changed the oil yet, i will try to do a leak down test today, the only thing i got to do was a compression test because i use my firends shop and he works nights so i had limited time there last night he is off to night. i don't know if is toast of not it was really milky under the oil cap that is about it.
DO NOT DRIVE IT!!!
You may have a blown head gasket.
Check the coolant reservior for bubling as Area said. Has your coolant been dissapearing?
Any unusually high amout of exhaust steam, even after fully warmed up?
I would also reccomend the leakdown test.
That white milky sludge is a sign of water in the oil!!!

m-dubs car has the same issue. his car is fine. it doesn't get hot, or do anything stupid. it has to do with condensation. being that we in the midwest suffer from irratic weather changes. water is bound to find it's way into weird places.
170 is kinda low though, when i popped my oil dipstick out (i dont think i snapped it down all the way) everyone said do a comp test i did one at my shop and had over 200psi in all cylinders
Mine pulls about 190psi with 10-1 compression pistons. Wes' was ~165 iirc with stock ones.
The white milky crap under your cap is most likely condensation. This occurs mostly when the weather gets cooler and more often than not the car is driven on short trips. The condensation in the motor evaporates and rises to the top of the engine (valve cover) and settles on the cap etc, as the engine cools it condenses into the milk you see. Your car is fine, this is a normal thing to happen when the weather cools down.
mine were all 140ish and the car was brand new when i did mine... it had 1600mi on it maybe my gauge was wrong... alldata says there all supposed to be over 100psi so i dont know how you guys are seeing allmost double stock specs
I thought you were talking about the oil itself being milky.
A little on the cap is normal as stated above.
There is always some moiture in the engine from the small amount of normal blowby, that is harder to get rid of when its cold.
