really loud grinding noise coming from the engine
Im mad, Drove the car this morning and it was perfect, now in the afternoon, its making a really really loud grinding noise coming from the engine, or the supercharger, I have a machined snout so I cant use that, I really dont know what to do, Im so pissed. What do you guys think. I think I might be getting the dreaded supercharger noise, I found the links but I cant find the videos, I also got the P0133 P1133 and P0300 codes. What do you guys think I should do.

hmm random misfire, emissions system (cat) low efficiency... and o2 sensor code...
is it running like crap, sound like a wrx? ... if so I don't want to tell you what might be wrong

my aim is fd up keeps knockin me off.... but if thats the case... disconnect the battery and check your plugs.... did you run leaded race gas in the car? or are you still runnin the stock cat?
My cat is a high performance cat, 93 octane all the time and my spark plugs are the Nkgs one step colder only, I have the two step colder in my hands. Its a really loud grinding noise you can mostly hear it at iddle. Sounds like its coming form the timing chain, or the supercharger.

I hope this turns out good for you.
yeah I pulled my spare motor apart last night( quite surprised, more on that later) but the chain tensioner is a pretty shitty plastic piece.
but we did have one ss/sc blow up due to the timing chain eating though it and jamming in something (not pretty)... might be your s/c, but you say its boosting the same
if it looks like its boosting higher, could be something in the valvetrain, we've been having problems over here with cam followers breaking.

JBP has designed a new chain tensioner for my engine, which player_1 absconded with (
) when his went. I know JBP was having another one made but I don't know the cost. If that is your problem I would be wary of GM replacing it with another crappy piece.
If I bought a ported blower lets say from intense, Would that fix the problem. In case it would be the blower, or would I still be using the same messed up couplers and bearings. Would the new ordered blower bring new bearings.
new blower from intense is just the housing and couplers... youd still be using your bearings, but you can buy a rebuild kit for it from a few different places... could just be your coupler goingbad though... which is the worst thing if you fix it right away..
good way to tell is take off the blower and see how much play is in the shaft.. i.e. spin by had and see if the pulley moves before the blades do.

To find out if its supercharger and or pulley related just take off the belt and start the car. If the noise is gone its something belt driven. Now if its still there after you've taken the accesories out of the picture then you might have an engine problem.

Like eastcoastz said above , I would DEF. at least slip the belt off and start the car to isolate the problem before u order the blower housing and rebuild kit . If it is the tensioner , it would be in your best interest to get that handled before sumthing catastrophic happens . If it breaks , you will spend ALOT more money . I just did this very thing on 00 Saturn with a dohc 1.9 . That brittle ass tensioner broke in several small pieces , there were pieces of it the oil pan , the chain broke , bent nearly all the valves ....it was basically just a nice lil mess .
