Chain I meant, the belt in my car is fine. The tensioner that works with the supercharger is also in good condition along with my stg 2 belt. I only meant to talk about the timing chain which is the one that gave me the problem. My mechanic actually said that the timing tensioner is not that bad and that people confuse it with some plastic. I donnu.

 

The tensioner is actually a decent piece of metal. The plastic everyone refers to is the chain guide, not the actual tensioner.

 

That sounds just like Blown 4-bangers since he intalled the 2.6. No problem yet.

I'll have to show him this so he minds the revs. He mis shifted once and HP Tuners read 7,8xx RPM! Oops.

 

My blower/motor sound fine. Theres no wierd sounds coming from mine. I rarly rev past 7000.

 

The timing chain tensioner is fairly easy to identify. On mine, the car sounded like a tin can rattling at idle, and worse with throttle. You can hear it even with the hood down.If bad enough, you can drive past a concrete barrier on the interstate with a window down and can hear it.
