Resevoir Tank, Cooling Fans, and Dyno #'s

OK so I searched and didnt find too much info on either of these. I went to get my car dynoed and tuned to see my stock numbers last night, but unfortunately there were some stupid people getting their cars dynoed that took too much time, so I am going this coming Tuesday or Wednesday to get it done. And in case your wondering, the tuning is free, and dyno is only $50 so I am not wasting alot of money on a stock tune. I dont know how many people know, but he said our car has a 1 -1 1/2 second throttle delay. So he will get rid of that and he said it frees up alot of lowere HP and Torque bot not much in the upper end, I dont know what else he has in plan, but everyone says he is the best around. The guy tuning my car specializes in GM's and dynoed a Cobalt not too long ago and had problems keeping his car cool on the dyno and had to call it quits until he fixed it...so. I looked up resevoir tanks but only found the LFP but I didnt see any other posts on it. Are there any other ones out there? And the fans can not be turned on by HP tuners according to this guy, but maybe he hasnt figured out everything about the Cobalts yet since they are new. So how do i wire those so they run all the time, or at least install some kind of relay so I can turn them on when dynoing. Then I will put up my stock #'s so everyone can guess what it will be.

I know for a fact that the fans can be put on with HPTuners, mine are on and my car was tuned using HPTuners.

interesting post for sure... I think the main fan comes on at like 180... there is a secondary fan that operates when the A/C is on.

I'd like for my main fan to come on at 170 instead of 180... and the secondary one to kick at 190...

that should be enough to keep temps in good range.

Does anyone on here know HP Tuners enough to PM me so I could let him know how. Because that was his biggest problem when he dynoed the other guys Cobalt, he could not get the fans to turn on for him. And I am still trying to find a bigger resevoir tank so I can put ice in it when I dyno.

Could it be that he has an older version of HP Tuners? That's just a guess on my part. I don't know much about it. As for the 1 - 1.5 second throttle delay, I think that is a little exagerated. It is probably 0.1 - 0.15 second delay

That is not true . My fans were tuned to come on as soon as I start the engine . But in HP it doesnt appear yoo can do that , if that makes any sense . I was there when Rob tuned mine , and in the fan settings ....it only appears the lowest temp you can turn the fans at is 192* . The lowest possible values were used for the fan settings in my SS, and mine do run all the time now . It helped ALOT . I can let my car sit in 100* air and idle for as long as I want and it doesnt go over 185-190* . Cruising is typically 175-180'ish .
