answer: less restriction is good. you want your engine to breath well but TO A POINT.

anyways. back on topic.

resonators are your friend. unless you like the sound of chainsaws....
If your car loses power and runs like **** because of a cutout, then there's some other factor involved. Simply removing restriction in the exhaust doesn't automatically make more power. You still have to tune the engine accordingly. Larger injectors, better flowing intake, different timing curve, or fuel map may be needed as well.

An engine is a combination of tuned parts. Changing one part can throw off the tune of the others.

what is better the factory resonator or the magnaflow resonator, they both have a staight threw design, but i heard that the factory resonator is made from better material and will last longer, what do you guys think.

i think im going to put the stock resonator back on or even the magnaflow resonator, and just have it a lil louder, instead of being made fun of for it sounding like a tin can with rocks in it lol.

Thank you sir. It's time someone finnally said it.

There are no baffles or other restrictions in a resonator. You can hold it up to the light and see that it's the same diameter inside as the original pipe. Some resonators have perforations in the pipe inside the resonator to break up and reflect sound waves. Others, like my Corsa, are basically a pipe inside a pipe with no perforations - but still performing a sound deadening function while maintaining exhaust velocity and therefore extraction.

The only thing you will save by removing the resonator is a little weight, but you will pick up an annoying "resonance" or cabin drone at certain constant rpm's.

Keep it, or go with a solid inner resonator like the Corsa. Like everyone says, you'll be sorry if you remove it.

It comes as part of the cat-back. One of the reasons Corsa charges as much as they do for their cat-back (other than the obvious uber quality) is that they guarantee no drone.

I guess that you could e-mail them to see if they offer it seperately.

do you have have a magnaflow muffler to go with that resonator, and is the tone a low rumble, nice sound, or a low tone where noone knows your coming when you take off, or just driving?
