I did a pull from a full stop today, shifted to second at about 5500-6000 and in second my revs were already at 5000. I thought something got screwed up so I shifted to fourth and I was at 4000 rpm going like 40 mph.. 4000 in fourth is normally like 110mph.. After I put it in fifth my revs were back to normal, but I'm scared this will happen again.. Could anyone explain to me what this could be?

 

You're high, you were in 2nd and 3rd never 4th.

 

Was your clutch slipping?

 

Clutch may have slipped a bit in first but I went straight from second to fourth to try and get my revs to normal and it still didn't fix it

 

Shifted straight to fourth because second was fucked up and I wanted to stop forcing the car

 

High idle from vac leak?

4000 at 40mph is 2nd gear.
