Rotten eggs!

My car is at the dreaded 100,000 mile mark. It has the original exhaust still. When it gets hot after a hard pull it starts to have that rotten egg smell. I'm pretty sure the cat is toast. The cheapest options that I see are the zzp 2.5" downpipe w/ magnaflow cat. OTTP sells one about the same but it's 3.0" diameter down to a 2.5" flange. If I ever upgrade the catback it will not be bigger than 2.5". No uncle bens for this guy! It's not an emergency to replace the cat, since it worked good enough to pass emission testing in December. But my thinking was I may do a stage2 or stage3 upgrade from zzp or ottp at the same time to save on shipping. So based on that, which company should I support and who is easier to work with? Thanks in advance!

if the cat is good or bad it will smell like rotten eggs after some hard driving. i wouldnt touch it till the CEL comes on.

Edit: try what the dude said, but if that doesnt work i've heard bad things about the ZZP flex pipes breaking, but i have no experience personally.

did u take your car in for the recall for the cat? also i believe our cats r covered by the recall for like 10 years or something sweet so you should still be able to get a replacement for it.

I think the cat recall was why I first came to the forums. But just from my memory (which is usually wrong) I thought your car had to be throwing a CEL caused by it to get the replacement. Guess I need to do more research on the recall specifics. And you guys are doing great at talking me out of upgrading lol.
