Running 2.9 on stage 2 with these mods

Is it ok to run a 2.9 on the stage 2 tune with these mods: obviously GM stage 2, magnaflow exhaust, injen intake, aftermarket downpipe, cxracing heat exchanger inline with stock, and one step colder plugs. At WOT in 3rd my Iat2s dont go over 125. i was also wondering if that was normal because I installed my interceptor after the heat exchanger. I know I should get a whole new tune and it would be 10 times better but I don't know of any good shops around northern IL or anyone with HPtuners. Thanks guys.

Depending on how far you want to drive I would recommend hahn racecraft in yorkville illinois. They have been doing amazing things with the lsj engines and for cars for 20years. Also there is a shop in port byron who does a lot of things and does great work, if your interested in them also pm me.

As far as the 2.9 on the stage 2 tune, some people do it, but personally i do not recommend it. Its hard on the injectors. As far as your iat2s your fine. Depending on ambient temps that seems reasonable for 1 3rd gear pull.

Try and do a 1st redline, 2nd redline, 3rd redline pull 3 times in a row. Then tell me what your iat2 is =P. The more you do it, the higher it will get. Thats what you have to watch out for.

You should be fine , see what your injectors are pulling for IDC. Your Iat2's are good, and with your mods your doing it alot safer than most who just throw a 2.9 on a otherwise stock stage 2 car. If they aren't blowing up you sure arent going to .

Hell alot of guys have run 2.8's on a stage tune without issue, but i'd hate to see their IDC's . It all depends on the elevation your at and air temps (well and the earth, moon and stars aligning ). My IDC's were high on my 2.99 stage 3 pulley. 2.99 was the smallest i wanted to go because of heat , I even take it off for the summer cause i don't want to hang a H/E lol.

Thanks guys. I figured it couldnt be too bad but havent done it. I will look into seeing hahn about tuning, I know they are very good and they have done some great stuff. My Iats were at 126 after 2 3rd gear pulls back to back.

If you can. Go from a dead stop, do a 1st to 2nd to 3rd redline pull. Take her all the way to 7k and shift. Then let me know what your iat2s are because thats pretty low.

If your just in 3rd gear, and smash it up to 6k rpms, then thats understandable. But from a dead stop to 3rd gear redline, you should be higher in your iat2s.

I am running a 2.9" on 42s. Have been for a while.

On my hpt logs my max IDC is 114%.

Hits 100% at 6400 rpms.

This is on the stage 2 tune.

Once I get the wideband and tune for 11.5 and the water injection I am running now hopefully I can get the IDCs under 100%.

My IAT1 was 75 and my IAT2 at the end of 3rd was 135 with just a cobra h/e. Didn't check my iat2s yet since the water injection was put on.
