Running Rich?
Running Rich?
Does the supercharged 2.0L normally run a little rich? I am looking at buying one, but it has an injen intake and magnaflow exhaust. There is black residue on the exhaust tip and i wasn't sure if this is normal. Thanks
I think its normal. I have that on my exhaust too. Im stock exhaust (for now) with a ZZP 3" intake. They normally run stok, but when you get on the throttle, it goes into Power Enrichment mode, in wich YES it DOES go rich. When I stomp my throttle I go from 14.7 (stoke) to arround 11.3 - 11.5 (Rich)
People like to mode them. Just know that if it's modded (Like yours is) then any Powertrain warranty will be void.
Look at your injectors, if they are green then they are the stock ones.
Check the PCM (In front of the fuse box) to see if it says anything like Intense or ZZPerformance ect on it. Also check the size of the pulley on the supercharger. 3.3" Is the stock size. See if it has an ingalls torque dampener, (Passanger side of engine, should say Ingalls ontop of it) It mounts to the engine mount. Make sure they are not over charging you for it. The Throttle bodes need to be cleaned routinly or the idle will become unstable, due to oil buildup. Only use 91 or higher Octane gas (Unless your stock) The battery is in the trunk under the floor next to the spare tire.

oh also,
Sometimes when the dealerships get these cars in, if they are modded and tuned, they will do a factory reflash, erasing the tune, yet leaving the mods. This causes you to get CELs. (Of course they just delete the code and hope it doesnt come up when you test drive it.
Thats what happened to me.
Got mine tuned, and I'm good to go now

Not sure, Id like to know myself since im comming up on 60K All I have to go on is my chilton's manual, but that tells me to check the power steering fluid level weekly.... or every 250 miles. Wich reminds me,
Find out if it's had the Power Steering Recall done on it yet. (We have electric Power Steering, so theres no fluid to check)
