S2 Mpg Winter

Ok so now that winter is in full swing, what is the MPG for the guys that are in cold weather withthe heater blasting all the time like my self with th GM S2 MPG.

I can't believe it myself but the digital read out with my mods told me 14.8 mpg . Although I drive like 8 miles a day back in forth in the city to and from work but 14.8 come on that is a big drop from the 20.5 I was getting last year with out the GM S2 . Is there something I should check into or is just because the crappy gas that is in the fuel stations(winter gas) I use 93 Sunoco or the blower being on at 2-3 all the time.

any one else?

My fuel economy has gone to ****, this winter. I have been looking into it and the only thin gi can think of is that I dont drive the car alot ALL short distance city driving and i sit around every time I start the car letting it warm up. One time I started the car and reset the fuel economy reading and it just got worse and worse as i sat there letting my car warm up. Not to worried about it becuase the reading is calculated by how much gas im using in relation to the distance I have travelled, it only makes sense that it would be crap.

I dont wait too long for it to warm up maybe a minute or two

I usuall y shift out at 3-4grand and really only once ina while get on it over 5grand . I just thought it might be the gas or since I put the exhaust on tha it made it crappy. The oil is at 36% also

I shift at 3000 - 3500 whenever possible... and sometimes it's not with the slow ass traffic around here. I skip 4th gear all the time. I was getting 27MPG but now that it's finally gotten cold I'm down to 25. I let the car warm up for about 5 mins in the morning when I drive it.

Stage 2 should be installed next week... if I can schedule a couple of hours off work to sit in the shop. I'll keep a check on my mileage and see how I do.

''Take your foot outta the floor." Thats funny I wish that was the case but is not . I would be complaining more if I had to fill the gas tank every week but I only fill up every two/ Do you guys think maybe I should buy some dry gas. possible water in the tank?

The only reason you get bad gas millage is because you are putting the pedal down.

Sorry but I don't believe for a second it's bad gas or the stage 2 it's your f00t. Now you have more power you are using it. I get about the same milage in the city cause my foot is always in the floor too.

The cold weather is killing the MPG's!

You guys common sense. Cold wether kills your gas milage. The car stays in open loop longer for one. And they change the blends of gas during winter. I dont understand why people dont understand this.

I dont drive my cobalt in the winter here but i drive a 2.2 ecotec cavalier. In summer it gets 29 in winter it gets 24-25. Ive had it for 2 years and its been like this always. Its going to happen. Do some research. they change the blend of gas in winter. And again being its cold the cars doesnt fall into closed loop as quick it takes a bit longer AKA more fuel is being used. Also you usally let the car warm up a bit more than in summer where you can just jump in or if you go somewhere you run in with it running where as summer you probly turn it off.

My .02 take it for what its worth but its true.

Kyle
