safe to say I need a new IC pump?
safe to say I need a new IC pump?
today i hopped in my car and got out on the highway and did a second and third gear pull to about 115mph. when i let out of it i immediately looked at my interceptor (been keeping a close eye on my IAT2's) and my IAT2 read 180*F. Outside temp was about 45*F. after i let out of it and was normally cruising about 60mph the temp went down to 135*F (where it usually is..) ..
so, is it safe to say i need a new one?

even 135 in 45* weather is far to hot. yea your ic pump is toast. crawl under the car and hit it with a hammer (not hard, just tap it) and see if it helps. right now i do that about once a week and the pump wakes up again. i have a replacment i just need time to put it on.

just use logic. 30-50* over IAT1 is okay...it will likely be more than that if your using a very small pulley, but otherwise, i'd check the pump
iat1 is your intake air before the supercharger, basicly ambient air temps. iat2 is after the blower, thats what we are concerned with. iat2 shouldnt really be more than 30-50*f above iat1 or your outside air temp.
