well, ive done it (sorry bill) lol.. i did it when i took my blower off to paint it black.. the main thing i noticed is the whine is definatley louder and now you can start hearing it in low rpm's.. hopefully the quiksteel wont ever come loose and if it ever does, hopefully it only ***** up the blower lol..

It does boost quicker... not higher psi, but it does boost faster.

Correct, this makes the supercharger louder by forcing the air through a smaller opening, the silencer holes allow air to be pushed out more easily. it also has no impact on how quickly boost builds.

port the main opening and plug the silencer holes. there will still be a noticeable increase in whine. ithas more to do with the location of the holes. i cant remember exactly what it was, but someone on here (maybe area47 or witt) described it probably over a year ago

It would have to get by the laminova cores first , but to each their own.

Haha , i want to hear it sometime. I wouldn't worry to much the cores in the intake manifold should catch them . It will be some work to get it out IF ....IF it ever comes loose. Have fun with the car , the next few days are gonna be it for awhile (weather wise) .

Take this for what you will.

My JBWeld fell out. How soon after it was done I don't know.

My motor did eventually blow, but that was something by itself completely unrelated.

Would I do it again if I could weld, yes.

The whine was definitely without a doubt louder.

Does this make the IAT-2s higher? Can this be welded or will it warp the blower?

i dont have any boost limited in any gear....wrong ECM for that one. but uhh...yea, i boost 10psi instantly, and i only peak at 11psi (larger displacement=less psi for the same CFM). A lot of the times, i boost 10.5psi and it creeps to 11psi, and a lot of the times, i boost to 11psi instantly and it holds there. Hell, i can film it for you guys if you dont believe me....i have no reason to lie about it, but i make full boost instantly

maybe u guys have tq management turned on..?

No. Fact is the stock gauge sucks dick

Mechanical gauges show exactly what you're saying

i dont get anywhere near full boost when i hit it but it does get higher boost than before the silencer holes where pluged. mine is something like this. (instead of 5 psi when hit gas at 2k, will hit 7-8 psi when hit gas at 2k) its not that big of a difference and there is no power gain whatsoever. its just louder.

Don't use JB Weld. It WILL fall apart.

Quicksteel is the ONLY product that I recommend using. Mine have been in for over $10k miles and they look the same as the day I put them in.

Get a mechanical boost gauge. Then you'll see how fast your car REALLY boosts up.

Boost isnt limited unless u limit it using hp tuners...

and everytime i floor it in second... in less than a second i am 3-4 psi from full boost, after a second, full boost...

Compared to an autometer mechanical boost gauge...yes.

They work just fine if you don't see the need for an aftermarket boost gauge.
