They work just fine if you don't see the need for an aftermarket boost gauge.
so what really would the difference be? i dont see the point to an after market gauge unless our gauges are off by a **** load.

since our gauges read from the PCM and are not connected to the actual vacuum lines, they tend to be slow or off a bit.

as long as its not off by a lot then im fine. if it is off by a lot then i might consider a new gauge. but if its just a little slow then i really dont care.

Yeah I knew it had to be.

I paid $70 for my autometer ultralite II mech boost gauge. Well worth the money, it looks better than stock IMO (goes better with my yellow gauge face), and is dead accurate with instant vaccuum/boost readings.

You aren't going to screw anything up if you follow these simple steps:

1.) Buy QUICKSTEEL... not JB Weld!
2.)Sand down the grit on the silencer holes before applying Quicksteel.
3.) Don't let the Quicksteel stick through the holes and into the S/C Rotor area.

If you follow those simple steps... you'll be fine.

why would you want to sand down the grit? wouldnt the grit give the quiksteel more surface area to adhere to? If anything, i would have guessed you'd want to skore (sp?) it up and make it rough

Thats what sanding it down does. Makes the quicksteel adhere better...

You sand it down with a rough sandpaper (80 grit or so).

That's how you learn before going out and just trying something and screwing something up...if its a common mod that people will debate than who cares if there are numerous threads about it...Good job Customs, I'm glad you did it right

Because welding will cause EXTREME heat to a FINISHED product. I don't know the technicals. TVS_SS explained it once.

Basically... it'll warp your S/C Housing.
