shifter removal problem

Okay this may be a repost but i couldnt find it anywhere else and instead of just telling me to look harder, someone please help me out with this. I cant get the stock shifter off at all. I got the cap off of the stock shifter where i heard theres supposed to be a torx screw underneath that removes the whole shifter but im not seeing anything. All i see is a black rubber piece over a silver piece below it and it looks like its not comming off at all. Is there any other way to get the stock shifter off? or has anyone else had my problem and now found a solution? I have an 05 if it helps and if anyone had this problem with an 06 post it as well.
