should i buy this cobalt ss im looking at with a bad head gasket???
Only way I would but it was if I still felt I would be a good deal if I had to replace the engine. Since it doesn't run and you cant do a compression or leakdown test without putting the timing chain back on I would tell him the only way you will buy it is if you can pull the head while it is this house. You have to pull the head in the end anyways and that will give you a chance to see the pistons and sleeves before u buy it.
U r right you can't see the condition of the pistons without pulling them. The only piston problem I have read about on these vehicles is broken ring lands and I thought that it would show up on the cylinder walls.
