I got mine installed when I purchased the vehicle. I never really noticed anything.

I would go with a Header Downpipe. You should check out Cobalt Addiction they have a nice setup.

Yes the CA setup works nicely. I have the CA header and downpipe with GMPP exhaust.

I have 0 complaints.

i would go with zzp there header has a 2.89 in collector i think the cobalt addiction ones only have a 2.25 collector on the ones that are 199.99 at least, but whatever floats your boat

If your intent is to be as fast as possible with GM parts the extrude-honed manifold reportedly gives you 7% more flow. That's exhaust flow increase -- not horsepower increase.

Since you went with the K&N intake it looks like you're not staying stock-only. In this case a header will certainly provide more HP increase/potential over a manifold. If you're lucky enough to have a dealer that would put this on and not argue over your warranty go for the CA header.

So basicly everyone is telling me is to get something other than GMPP the only reason i want to know is because the dealership is putting stage 1&2 & CAI on Thursday and if they were going to have it tore apart it might have been a good time to invest in that as well! but if everyone is saying get another kind then i might just hold off for a while and get it from somewhere else. Thanks guys

My dealership supports the K&N not The GMPP thats why i'm getting it and i don't want to void the warrenty which getting the K&N helps me there. don't perticularly car about going with GM accessories but with 1500 miles I got a lot of warrenty left and don't really want to void it soon , Sooner or later Yes but not soon!

There isn't anything to be torn apart really. At least nothing near the exhaust.

If you want the most gains, go with aftermarket.

Good call. Cobalt Addiction's header is nice, I have it.

Remember, the only way they can't cover something under warranty is if the aftermarket part directly caused the problem.

In other words if your sunroof stops working they can't say your warranty is gone because of a header.
It would have to be the header's fault.

Do you have the GMPP cat-back performance exhaust? If not, get it and a GMPP exhaust tip (angled or straight - your choice).

CA header fits in place of manifold -- no alterations needed. GMPP performance exhaust replaces original exhaust perfectly -- just have to cut out the original system to install it. CA has downpipes to replace your original downpipe too -- go to their website for info.

A flexpipe, downpipe, and catalytic convertor is between the header and catback.

Thanks distillion Thats what i wanted to know in the beginning. just don't want to buy something then turn around and have buy something better. I'm in no real hurry with getting anything but all my work will be done by shops so its more efficient to get things
done together wherever possible.I'm Just not a mechanically inclined person!

A piece of advice..do the entire exhaust in one shot (no matter what parts you end up going with) you will save money on the install that way.

Those 3 pieces are actually all conected when you get a downpipe (one with a cat)

The choice is yours to upgrade. The aftermarket piece does smooth out a section where the stock one narrows.
