smaller pulley

just bought my ss about a week ago. i had an 03 cobra a few years ago and all i had to do was buy a smaller pulley and put it on. can i do the same with this car it appears like i have to get a different size belt. does the tensioner not make up for the smaller pulley? and do i have to get any kind of flash done to it? i have an intake on its way would i need to do anything i dont know of? i see the stage kits you can get but my mustang i bought a 75 dollar pulley put just that on and got 7 more lbs of boost

You will need bigger injectors, the pulley, a hub to put it on, stage 2 belt or oversized tensioner, and a tune. You need all that to drop pulley sizes since the stock injectors are almost maxed out from factory.

not so easy on the cobalt.....the injectors are pretty much flowing at there maximum capacity stock. so they will support little to no increase boost....as well the stock supercharger cooling system is pretty well at its maximum capacity stock. so an increase in boost would create excessive heat that cannot be combated resulting in heat soak....the intake shouldnt cause any issues other than the lsj is known to draw oil through the crank case vent into your intake. so you may have some issues there, but nothing major..... i suggest you do some more research before doing any mods, this forum contains TONS of excellent information, id recommend going through the forums and having a look at some of the sticky's. they alone should contain enough info to give a general understanding of how things work to make some decisions on some starting mods for someone new to the ecotec world. good luck and enjoy the car!

Yeah. What they said. Go to ottperformance.com. They have some good kits for great prices and they'll flash your PCM accordingly as well.

I'm getting excited. I'm buying a Hahn exhaust setup tomorrow. And then I'm getting the OTTP stage 2 and H/E early summer.
