I've got a 2.8" on the bone stock belt with no slip still!

Someone should try a 2.35 pulley with a header and full 3" catless exhaust. They would have to shift at like 6k rpm because the blower would prolly melt spinning it up to 20,000+ rpm.

Thats for girls...

Someone should take the pulley completley off and grind grooves into the snout itself so it would be a 1.5" pulley. That's for guys with REAL *****.

Daily driver or not, the blower will be fine with any pulley size. The M62 has no problems going to 20k rpm and lasting for years.

The blower requires Hp to drive it, once you get over 18psi, it takes more power to turn it than you gain from the increased boost. Alky won't help that. A downpipe, header, cat back, better IC, etc will.

The ZZP 2.6 and 2.7 pulleys will fit without machining the snout but you have to be careful on the hub install. You need to install the hub just a smidge before flush (like .010)

Also, the more boost you add the more heat and the less timing you can run. The LSJ makes a lot more power from adding a little timing, than adding more boost at these levels. We took a our Ion to 239WHP with a 3.1" pulley very quickly on pump gas with a little timing. We could have gone further proving to me that trying to run 2.6 and 2.7" pulleys is a waste for 95% of you guys out there. We made that 239WHP with 12psi on the 3.1. Trust me, if you could just drop pulley sizes and keep making more boost, we would have made over 300WHP going to a 2.6 and how many of us are doing that? None.

Methanol injection takes the place of a better IC and cools better than an upgraded or dual pass heat exchanger ever will, and most of us around here are running catless with a custom exhaust, hence why we are interested in obtaining something around a 2.35" pulley.

I have a 2.35... just haven't tried it yet (I'll be setting the rev limit at 5k for testing) right now running the zzp 2.55 (well when the car was driveable anyway)

exactly...the extra timing we can add from alky makes more power and the smaller pulley means more boost and more tq...have any dynos u can show us to show us otherwise?

My 2.7" ZZP from you guys DID required machining of the snout. And it needs to be installed so that it lines up with the other belts.

Zooomer, you're forgetting one thing-TORQUE. You should know from the w-body world that high torque decreases e.t's. From a 3.1 pulley to a 2.5" pulley, you'd probably see over a 40wtq increase. With a 2.5" pulley and meth injection, I see 25 degrees of timing, and 19lbs of boost with 0 KR. What kind of times have you guys been running with your ION?

If anyone wants to talk about exhaust flow. I have the most free flowing exhaust out of anyone on this thread right now... A Pacesetter header. Thats it, the exhaust dumps out of the collector of the header, can't get much more free flowing than that

I was pissed that they (ZZP) put false info on their site.
The snout is a casting, and tolerance on castings is like plus or minus 10 mm (at least the ones I have experience with, but they are large). So that is why some people have problems and others don't. They should take that off their site if it states that.
