its better to use a jack anyway, since taking the wheel off will make it 100 times easier.
if you cant get a jack under, just drive the car up onto a small block of wood or osmething high enough to get the jack under.

How is it stupid? It gives you more air flow and makes your SC sound sexy. I find nothing stupid about that!

An aftermarket CAI will give very little gain, if any, over the airbox mod - its not stupid its economical...

I don't understand why everyone goes for a CAI anyway. All the air passes through the intercooler so a degree cooler air before the blower means ****.

That statement my friend is stupid. What do you think an aftermarket CAI is? A shiny metal pipe (Which is the same size as the factory that CONDUCTS heat) with an air filter at the end.

Those companies have convinced you their product is different. If you have to have a shiny metal pipe for $250 bucks go for it...it keeps the economy going

If you want to hear what an airbox mod does to the sound check out my video

here lemme give a suggestion to help you.

take some 2 by 4's and place them under ur wheels. drive ur car onto the 2x4 and try to get the wheel ramps on. do it as many times as u can. but it may not work. its worth a shot

Wait a minute... you are trying to do the airbox mod on a Redline??

It won't work... y'all's airbox is totally different from ours. Sure... you can put a replacement filter on the end... but that's not the same "airbox mod" as we do on the 'balts.

i dont even get how the cai helps more than the airbox mod. i actually decided to cut even more of and just cut the piping right beetween the maf and the airbox. that way its actually the exact same thing as an AEM CAI exept its not $200. i dont know if it works any better than the normal airbox mod, but i think it would.

I dont see how the air box mod is stupid. Same thing as the CAI but I think it would keep your engine cooler then a CAI since its plastic. Also, I like the air box mod cause when people look under the hood they cant tell i got a stage 2 and they think the car comes stock with the whining sound. Also, a filter costs 50 at the most a CAI cost 250. Save that 200 and buy a Ingalls Torque Dampener and you spend just as much on a CAI and got 2 products that u will notice a bigger difference in performance.
