Tach Question

anybody else have a problem with the tach not keeping up with the motor? maybe im just used to my pro comp ultra lite in the mustang, but it seems like this tach doesnt move fast enough. if i run first and second out the car will hit the rev limiter when the tach is at 6250, third gear is fine though, it will read to 6500 before hitting the limiter. if i rev first and second out slowly, without the car floored, the tach will read properly also. its annoying to say the least.

oh and my cd player will sometimes give a disc error when i shut the car off with a cd playing, and when i go to start the car again it gives the error and ejects the disc. mostly with burned cds but it had done it twice with a real cd. also very annoying, maybe not the best place to post that problem but the tach thing counts right? lol, thanks for any help.

yea i had that problem when i first got it but it was only because the clutch was slipping a little bit so the rpms just jumped.. try just taking off normal then just pin it and see if it does that again

the tach is slow. Apparently chevy is does this alot. My camaro had the same problem. Its the way the tach gets the information that makes the tach slow.

same with the redline. the tach signal goes through the computer than to the gauge. the stock gauge or an interceptor, same thing.

If you have it in neutral and rev it you can tell there is massive delay. I can rev it, take my foot off the gas and watch the tack climb.

that is with all cars because when you free rev a car, there is not load on the engine..so its revs a lot faster..jsut a fyi.
