Question Solid Upper Motor Mount and Trans bushings

Hey guys whats up? I purchased my mounts earlier this week and I'm having my mom's boyfriend install them hopefully this weekend. I was just curious as to how hard the trans bushings were to pop out from the stock and put in the new ones. I talked to one guy at ttr and said you just needed a press. I wanted to see if that's the way you did it and if you had any problems during the process. Pics would be awesome if someone actually did this themselves and could explain the easiest way to do. Don't worry my mom's bf has a lift in his own garage so he's got the tools to perform the job.

if you go to the how to section, you might be able to find (im pretty sure ive seen it) a way to get them out without using a press, but it does take some leverage...

if hes intuitive, he could use the lift (yes the car lift) to push it out...

they are saying to use a press because it will do the job in seconds... it is possible to do yourself though from what i hear.

i pop them out with a long screwdriver, and i trimmed the edges on mine and tapped them in with a hammer. it's a pretty simple job, just obviously make sure he supports the engine.

lol yea I know that... So it's simply just tapping the old ones out and putting the new ones in? Do you have to take the tranny mounts out or can they been done from where they are?

it's pretty straightforward. just remember how the rear mount goes together, other than that there's nothing really to mess up.

its not hard if you have a little mechanical skill. I did it at my house by myself with hand tools just make sure you have the engine and trans held firmly inplace and do one at a time.

Are you worried about them working their way out with the edges trimmed?
