Sooo has anyone else had this problem?
Well last week I had my car in for service because the fuel gauge was reading erratically and they said the replaced the sending unit in the tank. I was like OK sound perfect. Well Saturday I was driving and in first gear I could take it all the way to the red line and in second I could only take it to about 5000 RPM's and it would cut out (almost like I hit the rev limiter but my limiter is programed to come on at 6500 RPM's) so I was like weird OK so I shift to third and I can only get to about 4300 RPM's and it cuts out again at this point I'm like WTF so shift into fourth and it cuts out at about 4000 RPM's and it kept repeating almost exactly like that the entire time I was out and I would step on the gas hard (if I increased the RPM's slowly and eased into the gas it didn't do it or do it as badly). Before I went home I stopped for gas (I had just under a 1/4 of a tank left) and when I turned the car back on the problem disappeared. So today I was out driving again and I was back around 1/4 of a tank of gas and kick me in the ass if the same **** didn't happen again! tried turning the car off let it sit and wen and had dinner came back and it did the same thing again. This time i went to the gas station and filled up and didn't turn the car off got back in the car and ****** A if the problem didn't disappear. I could red line every gear under hard acceleration. What do you think the problem could be? Do you think they could have hooked the fuel pump up wrong or put the wrong pickup in or what other thoughts do you have? I have to take it back to the dealer which pisses me off cause that leaves me with no car for the day! Any thoughts? I just want some ammo to go at them with when I take it in...
I knew I still had a few gallons to go because I reset my trip millage every time I fill up and I know I get about 320 miles to a full tank of gas before I absolutely have to fill up and the trip millage said 265 miles. It's almost like the dude that pit the pick up in doesn't have the pickup all the way at the bottom of the tank and when I hit the gas hard the gas shifts to the back of the tank and away from the pickup which makes the motor cut out...
I never had this problem until they put a new pickup in last week...

Fill up your gas tank allllll the way up to the top and see if the problem happens. If it does, it has nothing to do with the gas tank and is another issue, in my opinion. I could be wrong however, it has happened before.
If the problem doesn't happen when the tank is full, and only happens when you are at say 1/4th of a tank or lower, then your baffle in the tank is not seated properly and is causing basically a surge at higher rpms because you are not getting the fuel you need. If you had a wideband, you would be able to see that you would be leaning out at the higher rpms.
I recommend taking the car to the dealership and having them redo whatever they did again because the issue was not fixed.

Yea I am. I just hate taking it to the dealer because then I have to take a day off work because they refuse to give me a rental car. I just wanted to see if anyone had any thought what it might be so I could go in and rip em a new one.
nope 13 but if you really try you can cram in about 14

No m car wen into the shop on the 2nd with 1/2 a tank of gas. They replaced the sending unit and pickup. On the 6th I first noticed this and I filled up with gas and it disapeared. Drove it every day to work and where ever else I needed to go and the issue came back on Friday the 11th and I then filled up and it disappeared again...
Effin frustrating because every time I take a day off work, because they won't give me a rental car, to deal with this kinda **** it costs me $500-$1000 on average because I work on commission...
