spark plug changes?

ok so i got stage 2 and put 1 step colder NGK copper plugs in i think they were the BRK7E's anyway somebody on this site somewhere said that they change this perticular plug liek every 2-3 oil changes thats like 6000-9000 miles to a plug change? do you really have to change the step colder NGK plugs that often that is completely ridiculous and will go with NGK iridiums if this is true?

The copper plugs need to be changed every 20,000-30,000 miles I belive. Most people that are using 1 step colder plugs have enough done to the car that they want to err on the side of caution, so they change the plugs early just to be safe (and because they're cheap). The iridiums are fine except that they are much harder to gap.

Gapping the plugs is a whole seperate topic, I'll just say you should try at least 3 or more different gaps betweeen the .030-.045 (.035-.040 is the more common range). Go with the biggest gap the car runs well on. The iridums some people gap with the cheap gapper tools you can pick up at auto-zone, but there's a decent chance you'll break the electrode off trying to use one of those tools. That's the other reason people go with copper plugs, easier gapping.

I have these plugs, they are ZEX 1 step colder and I love them.

They were much better than the Iridiums.

heat. you constantly beat on your car, the plugs will wear out faster. you play granny goes to church everywhere, it will last a bit longer.
